XPENG G9

European Photography

Sometimes you don’t have a car, or a budget to allow you to create a bespoke shoot, so the only thing you can do is create a CGI project with purchased backplates.

For this project, I worked with Keith Hall and Paul Tobutt at PICs in the UK to create a suite of “european-looking” images that would give a sense of driving adventure and would allow our country teams to use imagery in their marketing which would resonate better with the customer than the current imagery from the HQ in China.

This was a really smooth project from start to finish. The guys at PICs worked to create a pool of backplates which we then narrowed down. They even purchased a CAD model to drop a car in to place to give us a better idea of how the image will look. Once they received the CAD file for the G9, we worked simultaneously across backplate scouting, CAD prep and finding material references so we could complete the project as quickly as possible.

After just a few short weeks, we finished the project and got some really nice imagery which we started the same day delivery took place.
