What do you say when an independent test shows that your stated WLTP range figures we an underestimate and you smash the European charging record for an EV? You say “okay, we lied”.

An attention grabbing headline designed to get people to take notice. Not only was this done to draw attention to the result, but also make people aware of the brand.

A bold move, but one that was described by one XPENG colleague as “pretty close to perfect marketing”.
